Town of Thurston Legal Notice

The Town of Thurston will receive sealed bids for the construction of a new town hall.  The Town is seeking a general contractor to perform site work, construct a basement, and provide a modular first floor, in addition to performing finishing work and stair and ramp construction.

All bids must be mailed to Sue Conklin, Thurston Town Clerk, 4639 Tucker Road, Campbell, NY  14821, or call 607-527-8269 for an appointment to hand deliver a bid.  Bids must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 7:00 p.m. on September 15, 2010.  Bids will be publicly opened at 8:00 p.m. on September 15, 2010 at the Thurston Town Hall located at 7475 County Route 333, Thurston, New York.  A copy of the contract documents will be available for download at www.ldgbidplans.com beginning at 9:00 a.m. prevailing time on September 1, 2010.

To obtain printed copies or CD's, contact Larson Design Group, Inc., 1 West Market Street, Third Floor, Suite 401, Corning, NY 14830 by calling 607-936-7086 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily (prevailing local time) except on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. 

The contractor must abide by the Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246 regarding discrimination.  State prevailing wage rates will apply to this project.

Bids must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier's check, Bank Good Faith Check, or other irrevocable letter of credit drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in the State of New York, or by a Bond with Corporate Surety in the amount of (10) ten percent.

All bids submitted must be firm for a minimum of sixty (60) days from bid opening.  No bidder may withdraw a proposal within this time.  The Town may require the full sixty (60) days for review and award of the proposals.

All contractors must ensure that their employees, candidates for employment and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, creed, sex, age, or national origin.

A non-collusive bidding certification shall accompany all bids.  The Thurston Town Board reserves the right to refuse any or all bids, is not necessarily obligated to accept low bid, and has the right to waive all irregularities in bidding.
